Christ should not be center of everything. He should BE EVERYTHING!

Following Christ reveals He is in, surrounding, and holding everything, so we have no reason to worry.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

God takes care of all of our needs. Believe and trust in Him who provides everything, and find eternal life.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

VerseD: Ecclesiastes 3:11

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.

Wait on God, no matter the circumstance you are in. He has a purpose, ultimately leading to His eternal kingdom being set up on the New Earth.

VerseD: 2 Thessalonians 3:5

May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.

We cannot fully and consistently love others without the love of God filling us and flowing through us.

Especially when others have wronged us.

Or we disagree with them.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 4:18

as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Our trust is not in government institutions, money, or things. These will fade away.

Our trust is in the Holy One, God, and the work of the cross. Without these, there is no long term hope.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

Be kind to others, lifting each other up.

Encourage others, bring a shoulder or an arm to help.

Share the Lord, showing His joy and healing.

Trust the Lord to get you through each day and every moment, giving Him praise and thanks all the while.

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

No matter our circumstances, we have Christ as our example:

  • We have hope for eternity to endure all things,
  • We do not lash out at others,
  • We take EVERYTHING to our Father in Heaven.

Some Thoughts On Work (Labor)

What if we took up a collection to go out to places, order something really cheap on the menu, then leave big tips for those working on Labor Day?
What if we wrote notes and gave gift cards to those who serve us in other ways, not just on Labor Day but throughout the week?
What if we made Labor Day a day to serve pur communities in some way?

Labor Day

I am sure I’m not the only one who finds it a little odd that we celebrate a day by not doing what the day honors. Yet, on the very day we are supposed to give honor to labor, or work, we take a day off.

Oh, but you say, “It’s not about the celebration of work; it’s about celebrating the worker.” Yeah, if that’s true, then why not call it Laborer Day?

Nevertheless, I don’t really think there’s 1 in a hundred who will actually do anything to celebrate labor, employment, the worker, or anything of the sort. Even though every one of us should be thanking God if we have a job, our 9-5 will be the last thing on our minds as we enjoy our time off.
