Yep

Yep yep.

VerseD: 2 Thessalonians 3:3

But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
2 Thessalonians 3:3, ESV

Christ’s faithfulness and strength is what sustains and empowers us by the Holy Spirit to the glory of the Father. Trust in Him, not your own ability to be faithful. (But endeavor to be faithful!)

I Am a Soldier. This Is My Creed.

At least one more today.
Onward, Christian soldier!

In honor of the home-going of a godly man and combat veteran of the European campaign of WWII, W. L. “Red” Sims, I re-post the following.

Soldier’s Creed

Hearing a soldier in the United States Military recite his particular “Solder’s Creed,” whether it be with the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, or Coast Guard, is something quite stirring.

Probably inspired by the military creeds of this world, an unknown author penned the following for soldiers in God’s Army, the Church: those bought with the blood of Christ, wearing the whole armor of God, and marching onward toward victory with the Sword of the Spirit in their hands.

The sooner we come to the realization that we are most certainly engaged in a spiritual war, the better. May we all be willing to stand unashamed…”and having done all, to stand” (Ephesians 6:13).

Little Things With Big Impact

Okay, so you can take this opportunity to pray for Wally, but I was blown away by his little lesson that came from his … discomfort. It was convicting and comforting for me at the same time, so ENJOY!

Seven Letters to Seven Churches-Ephesus Part 6

Ephesus had a church for about half a decade (maybe more) when Jesus sent His letter through John’s revelation of Him. Remember the riot that started in Acts when Paul and company were there. The Ephesus church had toiled through many hardships for Christ.
Wally has some great thoughts here, too!

VerseD: Psalm 121:1

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
Psalm 121:1, ESV

In a world worried and complaining about all of the problems, we must remember God is in control and can help us.

And we can tell everyone else from where our hope comes.

The Joshua Harris Fallout: The War Everyone’s Forgetting (Or Never Saw)

I am interested to see if this spurs conversation. I know some of my friends would take issue with this (well, probably Christianity and Christians as a whole …), but I would not mind seeing conversations go down this route.

Few days of history compare to the last day of the World Wars. Millions danced in streets across the globe.

But those scenes seem far removed from today.

“Why continue torturing myself? Why not just forget God and get on with life, like most of the rest of the world? Instantly I felt a sense of relief and freedom, like I had just passed a final exam … I picked up my Bible and a couple other Christian books and walked downstairs and out the back door. I shut the door softly behind me, so as not to wake anyone. In the backyard was a brick barbecue grill, and I piled the books on it, sprayed them with lighter fluid, and struck a match. … at last I had peace. A great weight had lifted. I had been honest with myself. Any pretense was gone, and I no longer felt…

VerseD: Proverbs 18:24

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
Proverbs 18:24, ESV

In the day of disconnected social media friendship and increased depression, it is comforting to know that the Son of God has called us who believe in Him friends and brothers.

VerseD: Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 28:19, ESV

The Father begot the Son, and they send the Holy Spirit. Because of Christ’s authority shared with us through the Spirit, let us glorify the Father by bringing in to the faith as many as He gives us to win over.

That means GO OUT and make disciples!

Betty White was prettier than a hole in the ground, so the Earth is young.
Just read this to understand. I appreciate it.

One of the arguments I have heard from Old Earth Creationists* is that the universe CAN’T be as young as 6,000 years, because it LOOKS SO OLD! They argue that the universe has the APPEARANCE of age, and so if God made the universe only 6,000 years ago but made it LOOK this old, then He is intentionally deceiving us! HOW (they ask in all caps) CAN WE POSSIBLY BELIEVE in a God who would make a universe that LOOKS SO OLD when it is NOT so old? Doesn’t that make God DISHONEST?

And I’m all- “Hey, y’all think God made sin, death, disease, bloodshed and suffering and then called it “very good,” and you want to gripe because the universe doesn’t still have it’s price tag and factory wrapping?”

But I digress.new universe.jpg
