If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
Galatians 5:25, ESV
Living by the Spirit means we will grow in love and self-control (along with all the fruit of the Spirit), serving others and glorifying Christ in all things.
Sanctification is entirely impossible without the Holy Spirit. When I look back on where I’ve screwed up, the blame cannot be on the devil or anyone else…only the emptiness where the Holy Spirit should have filled.
I have met some who say the Holy Spirit fills in where we fall short. I am not so sure that is how it works! More like He fills us completely. When we fall short, it is – as you said – when we are not relying on the Holy Spirit, even in things we may be able to do in our own power.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
