Versed: Joshua 1:8

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8, ESV

We should be regularly reading, reciting, and ruminating on (thinking about) Scripture. It helps with our day to day life and prepares us for the next life.

Versed: Matthew 5:9

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Matthew 5:9, ESV

We should promote peace in our world, absolutely. The best way is through bringing others to peace with God by sharing the Gospel.

VerseD: 2 Timothy 1:9

[God] who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
2 Timothy 1:9, ESV

We are saved by Christ’s good work to do good works in His Name throughout this world to give glory to God. This is our calling in life.

VerseD: Isaiah 26:3

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Isaiah 26:3, ESV

True peace is found in God alone.

Turn to Him.

Trust Him.

VerseD: John 14:1

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.”
John 14:1, ESV

Christ has overcome this world by overcoming death and the grave. We can find peace in Him by believing God has done this. This world is not our home, and one day He will unite us again in eternity!

Versed: Philippians 2:13

for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Philippians 2:13, ESV

We follow Christ’s example of humility and obedience to be a part of God’s good plan, and He helps us with His Holy Spirit.

VerseD: John 15:5

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5, ESV

All our deeds and works are tainted by our sin. We only truly do good works when we are living in the power and grace of Christ.

VerseD: Psalm 77:11-12

I will remember the deeds of the Lord ; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.
Psalm 77:11‭-‬12, ESV

God created all things, guided Israel through the wilderness, rebuked and disciplined His people, and saved all who believe He came as a human and died on the cross for our sins.

There are many reasons to praise God. Think of all He has done for you, and worship.

VerseD: Matthew 18:6

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
Matthew 18:6, ESV

We must be careful how we live and teach, for we are just as culpable in others’ salvation as our own. If we push people away from God through our actions and teachings (that do not conform with Scripture), we are guilty.

(He still shows grace, if we turn and repent!)

Be careful how you live.

VerseD: Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:7, ESV

Drawing near to God by the Holy Spirit protects, strengthens, and comforts you in all trials, troubles, worries, and attacks, so that no matter what is happening you can know His peace.
