Video Lesson: Infinite to Infinitesimal Gospel

We should know the big picture.

It is extremely helpful to know the littlest parts: how things work and what needs to be understood.

How would you define infinity? What is it?

What is the opposite of infinity? Do you know?
(Hint: It is not negative infinity!)
[In other words, what is the limit of what we should know?]

What does the Bible say?

  1. Matthew 22:36-40
    1. L                               God.
    2. L                               people.
      1. The first 3.5 C are based on the first.
      2. The second 6.5 C are based on the second.
  2. 1 Corinthians 2:1-2
    1. The best way to love God is admit J is God who loved us enough to become a h and die for our sins.
    2. The best way to love people is tell them that God became a human to die for our sins!

There is obviously more detail on how we love God and others, but that is for another lesson!

So, love God and others by reading your Bible to know Him better and to share the full Gospel with everyone!

VerseD: Deuteronomy 6:6

And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.
Deuteronomy 6:6, ESV

God’s Word should be our primary source of knowledge that all other knowledge filters through. This is one way we love God, and by extension others.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 13:6

it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
1 Corinthians 13:6, ESV

True love celebrates and enjoys whatever is good, laments sin and evil, and gives God glory and praise always.

VerseD: John 13:34

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
John 13:34, ESV

How did Christ love others?
Grace.
Mercy.
Patience.
He defended truth, yes, but He also (usually) lovingly guided back to truth.

VerseD: Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 15:1, ESV

How many fights come from misunderstanding and reacting?
This is why many legal codes state “presumed innocent.” Seek answers, gently approach, calmly discuss and rebuke (if necessary. Maybe you were the one to misunderstand.)

VerseD: 1 Thessalonians 5:15

See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
1 Thessalonians 5:15, ESV

We do not get even. We do not seek harm on others.
We love EVERYONE with God’s love and let Him handle it when we are wronged.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 13:6

it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
1 Corinthians 13:6, ESV

Lies. Abuse. Theft. Adultery. Dishonor. Idolatry. Envy. Lust.
All of these distort God’s truth.
But love can see past all of these and love the one made in God’s image.

VerseD: Deuteronomy 6:5

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
Deuteronomy 6:5, ESV

God helps us control our thoughts and emotions as we learn to walk like the Son and love on others.

VerseD: Proverbs 21:2

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.
Proverbs 21:2, ESV

We may think we are doing good things, but God can see our motivations, our intentions.
Maybe we want to help to because of the obligation, to feel good about ourselves, or even to get revenge!
Or maybe we want to love others. In Christ’s name.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 13:13

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13, ESV

We have faith, because God is faithful.

We have hope, because God has promised.

We love, because God is love and has loved us.

Loving is sharing Christ.
