This Sunday at Church: Pray for young people to come hear the Gospel in your church

Our congregation had about 40 people with a handful of kids and mostly older attendees when my wife and I came along. Today, there is a good blend of younger and older. Prayer helps!

Also, be prepared for the challenges that arise as a church grows! Continue praying and seeking God, as individuals and a congregation.

VerseD: John 3:16

For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God created humans for fellowship, with Him and each other, and that was ruined by our sin. But He loved us enough to come Himself to remove sin from all who believe this to restore fellowship.

VerseD: Galatians 2:20

‭I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

How can we go on loving our sin when Christ died for those sins and now lives in us? Let us cling to our Savior and seek His love and grace in every area of our lives.

VerseD: Ephesians 5:1-2

Therefore, be imitators of God, as dearly loved children, and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us, a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.

How can we not live others, when Christ have us the perfect example to follow by sacrificing Himself for our benefit? Let us sacrifice of our time, energy, resources, and even our lives for the sake of the gospel and the souls of others.

‭He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

How can we keep on sinning when we know Christ took our sin upon Himself? May we grow in sinning less by loving Him and each other more.

VerseD: Matthew 5:43-44

‭“You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”

How can we not offer love to those who hate us after the God we hated through sin loved us enough to die for those sins? Let us learn from and be empowered by Him to love those who mistreat us that they may see the truth of the gospel.

Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Take the lead in honoring one another.

How can we not love others knowing how much God loved us even when unforgiven and died for us? Let us set the example for others by following His example and loving sacrificially.

Pursue peace with everyone, and holiness  — without it no one will see the Lord.

How can we not try to live at peace with others when God has brought peace between Himself and us through Christ? Rely on His peace and extend it to others through forgiveness and grace.

bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you are also to forgive.

How can we withhold forgiveness when we have been forgiven so much by God? Rely on and learn the patience and grace granted to us through the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 12:25-27

so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other. So if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it.

Jesus calls us to love each other as He loves us, and He empowers His Church to show grace, forgiveness, and encouragement to each other, to lift each other up and carry each other as we need it.
