VerseD: 1 John 2:1-2

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

Christians ought not habitually sin. However, Christ’s atoning sacrifice has covered all of our unintentional, ignorant, and momentary sins, so we are still forgiven from the outset.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

You can try being a good person and avoiding sin, and you may even have some success, but to live a truly good life takes relying on the Helper: the Holy Spirit.

God’s word is a source of comfort, spiritual and moral protection, and truth. The ultimate of these three are revealed in the Bible to be found in the Word, Jesus.

“What is my calling?”

Every person has three objectives within the same one major calling in life, and one objective is to lead others to Christ and help them grow in holiness. It is not just your pastor’s job. It is everyone.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

We have an Advocate who understands everything we go through and everything we are, and He desires to help us with every need.

VerseD: Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31 ESV

It feels like Jesus is taking His sweet time returning and our world is growing worse and harder to live in.

But if we trust that His timing is good, and we remember that He has promised He is returning, we will find Him strengthening us through the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: Isaiah 41:10

fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

The is no reason to fear what may come or happen. The God of everything wants to help you, lift you up, and comfort you.

Trust His Son, who was lifted up.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.

Are you an orphan or widow (or widower? Just have an absentee or abusive father or husband (or mother or wife)?

God loves you and wants to care for you. Lean in to Him.

VerseD: Romans 11:33

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

We cannot understand God. Able to see and know everything, He makes decisions that we may never see the origin or full results of, but He is our wise Father.

We can trust Him.

“Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.”

Why do we struggle to trust God?

If He can create literally everything, and He is able to raise people from the dead, walk on water, and make a few loaves and fish feed thousands, surely He can handle each of our situations in life.
