VerseD: James 3:13

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.
James 3:13, ESV

We have truth on our side, but wisdom often dictates grace and compassion win out over blunt statements.
Ask the Holy Spirit to give wisdom in every interaction with others.

VerseD: Colossians 3:12

Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience
Colossians 3:12, ESV

We have truth and grace on our side. As we live with fallen people and the faithful still being sanctified, let us remember we were lost and are being changed, so that we can faithfully serve others in the name of Christ.

VerseD: Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Proverbs 15:1, ESV

Understanding, compassion, and empathy usually work better than accusation, blame, blunt indifference, and even simple advice.
Truth is necessary, as is remembering to honor the emotional state and image of God in the other person.
It is not about being right but loving in truth.

VerseD: Psalm 19:7-8

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes
Psalm 19:7‭-‬8, ESV

Our conscience confirms, the history and theology revealed in the Bible – the command to love God and others – states plainly there is right and wrong. Following God’s Law is what brings us true joy and salvation.

VerseD: Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Romans 1:16, ESV

Do you share the Gospel with others? Are you more concerned with how people (including yourself) feel or the truth of Christ? Do you know the Gospel well enough to share it?

VerseD: Matthew 11:15

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
Matthew 11:15, ESV

Do you listen to Christ and His followers, or do you listen to what sounds best to you?

Do you seek the truth found in the Bible or, like Thomas Jefferson, pick your favorite parts only?

VerseD: Matthew 10:16

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”
Matthew 10:16, ESV

We are not only to be concerned about those in the world, but many within the fold of Christianity are deceitful and wicked servants of evil while putting on a good show of righteousness.

VerseD: 2 John 1:6

And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.
2 John 1:6, ESV

We show we love God by following His commands, and what are His commands:

  1. Love God
  2. Love others
  3. Love the Church

VerseD: Ephesians 4:1

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called
Ephesians 4:1, ESV

It is not enough to say you are a Christian. It takes more than simply going to church. It is a life change, and we should be growing in and showing love, respect, patience, and kindness to people while standing up for truth.

VerseD: John 8:32

“and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
John 8:32, ESV

Jesus is the Truth. He is the One who sets you free.

Lean on Jesus.

Trust Him.
