For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.
Romans 8:18, CSB
Christ is our example of love, enduring even hatred and persecution to bring others to the knowledge of His love and the hope of eternal life with Him.
Amen. I might make a post about it soon, but this reminded me that yesterday in a new/growing believer class, a Christian for 24 years realized the problems we face can come from God’s love and desire to grow us, and He suddenly found a new level of peace. A 3-month-old Christian (who, like the 24-year-old, is mid-50s in actual age) was able to grasp God’s love working in us means sometimes being a doormat (welcoming and cleaning feet), but more importantly it means actively loving his wife even when they have a disagreement and (we now have hope before) a fight. We are already hearing about one of their best afternoons and nights together in years.
God is good.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
A needed perspective
