VerseD: Psalm 19:14

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14, ESV

Seek to be more holy, more Christ-like in every area of life, that you may be pleasing to God and a witness to His glory.

VerseD: Psalm 91:2

I will say to the Lord , “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Psalm 91:2, ESV

Show the world where your hope lies: consciously choose to trust in the Lord who came and died to save us from sin and death, and the world will want the peace and joy that will flow through.

VerseD: Colossians 3:23-24

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Colossians 3:23‭-‬24, ESV

Everything we do in life – our work, our relationships, our helping others, and sharing the gospel – we realize we are directly serving Jesus. He is the God of our whole lives, not merely parts.

VerseD: John 15:2

Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
John 15:2, ESV

God expects us to be in His Word and sharing the gospel with others as we sacrificially help others in the name of Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.
To not do these may indicate we are not a part of the Vine.

VerseD: John 14:26

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
John 14:26, ESV

His helps us remember His Word to fight off temptations to sin and to lead others in all truth to the saving knowledge of Jesus.

VerseD: Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Psalm 119:105, ESV

God’s Word guides us in how to love and lead others to the source of Love: Jesus.

VerseD: 1 Peter 4:8

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8, ESV

Because of God’s love and grace to us, we can give grace to others of the love given to us by our Lord and Savior.

This Sunday at Church: Find Out About and Biblically Support the work towards the Youth

Our youth group (I am the Youth Pastor) does meet outside of main service (it was one of my conditions!) so that they are with family and heart the main message. I occasionally remember to have a game, but if anything we usually do a small ice breaker. The entire focus during our meetings is “What does the Bible say, and how can we understand it and live it out?” Apologetics is a major element, as well. We see too many people today saying things like “no one talked about … had answers to …”
Further, they are involved in ministry in and through the church. 4 or 5 even get to read the weekly passage before the Sunday morning message! (It’s still a little weird to me that I can say “4 or 5” having started with 3.)
It also helps that almost all of the parents do ministry, too.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 7:10

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
2 Corinthians 7:10, ESV

Are you bitter or heartbroken over your sin? Are you stuck in the past, unable to let go of your mistakes and sin, or have you seen the truth that, yes, you sinned, but Christ has paid for your forgiveness and freedom from those sins?

Is Christianity a Tool of European Colonialism?

I had been considering a similar post, but I will take all of SlimJim’s work and re-share it. It is easier on me.
Christ’s Church is not European, though Europe was the central launch point for centuries. Like said in many of these points, so much of the Bible is against the slavery and tyranny seen in many of the colonizing nations. It was the truth of the Gospel that eventually led to some of the most powerful empires and societies eventually denouncing slavery and tyranny.
Just a couple extra cents’ worth of my thoughts.

I want to answer a question someone has about an objection of what if Christianity is a tool for European colonialism.  Here’s my response:
