Most of us like giving gifts. What greater gift can we get than Jesus, the Son of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit?

Our “This Sunday” series will be another a Corona Virus edition.  Last week for this series I posted “The Church during the days of Corona Virus: Pray for the President’s Health and Salvation.”  It has generated a lot of discussion.  This springs from last week’s post I thought it would be right for this week to do the following to balance last week’s post: Pray for the Health and Salvation of the Presidential Candidate.

VerseD: Micah 6:7

“Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”

Old Covenant sacrifices were a shadow of the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. It does not take a slaughter for our forgiveness, but the sacrifice of God’s Son, Jesus.
Now, our sacrifice is to follow His example of servanthood and love.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

God is Truth and Love and Life. Only in God do we have eternal life, for only He is eternal and able to save.

“no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

Truth is on our side, and what can anyone do to us other than end this life? Through Christ, the Truth of God, we have inherited eternal life.

But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.

God is our source of strength and peace in all circumstances, so He is worthy of our praise and adoration, all day and every day.

VerseD: John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 14:27, ESV

True, complete peace can only be found in Christ. This world will try to offer peace yet only gives confusion and pain.
Turn to Christ, the peace of God.

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

God can do all things in and through us, so seek our Lord and Creator who strengthens and sustains us by His Spirit.

VerseD: Ephesians 6:12

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12, ESV

Many people do evil things, but they are not our true enemy. Instead, we draw near to God and ask Him to defeat evil, as He did at Calvary, asking to be our mighty friend amd defender.
