It was encouraging to read through the beginning of chapter 20 where Dr. Ross identifies the specific points of agreement for biblical creationists and his brand of old earthism, which he calls “day-age creationism.”

  • Both views emphasize the divinely ordained significance of the human race.

  • Both asset that humanity is the only spiritual species on Earth.

  • Both proclaim humanity’s eternal destiny.

  • Both deny the naturalistic view of humans as the random result of blind processes.

For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Romans 10:10, ESV

VerseD: Psalm 19:13-14

Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me! Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord , my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:13‭-‬14, ESV

With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can overcome temptation and avoid sin. Then, may we share the glories of God, our faithful Savior!

God’s Law and statutes warn of sin and temptation. Through Christ, we are declared innocent of any wrongdoing.

VerseD: Psalm 19:9-10

the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the rules of the Lord are true, and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
Psalm 19:9‭-‬10, ESV

God’s Word rejuvenates the soul, increases wisdom, and guides us to salvation through Jesus Christ. Seek and trust our Savior above all else.

We begin fearing the One whonwill judge our souls, then we stand in awe of His love, grace, mercy, and power.
We should have a desire to read His Word.

VerseD: Psalm 19:7-8

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes

Our conscience confirms, the history and theology revealed in the Bible – the command to love God and others – states plainly there is right and wrong. Following God’s Law is what brings us true joy and salvation.

VerseD: Psalm 19:3

There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.
Psalm 19:3, ESV

From the smallest interaction in an atom to the massive dance of galaxies, the order and cohesiveness of Creation shouts “There is a Creator!”
Listen to the voice of that Creator, pointed to by nature and revealed in the Bible.
