VerseD: 2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:17, ESV

Christ has set us free from the tyranny of sin, not as a temporary fix but eternal healing, and we have His Holy Spirit as a deposit of that promise.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:8, ESV

God has given us His grace, not as a one-time boost or temporary fix, but His grace is all-encompassing and forever.

May we share that grace with our world.

VerseD: Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6, ESV

The promise is not that God would make a visit to us. God has come, and He is reigning over Earth from Heaven through His Holy Spirit-filled Church.

Let us spread the Kingdom of our God who is with us.

VerseD: Luke 2:11

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

God came to us as a defenseless baby.

Yes, angels were watching, but He came to live as one of us to fulfill His promises since the Garden of Eden and to save us from sin. And the lowliest to the greatest of people are all invited to come to Him.

VerseD: Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:31, ESV

We await the second advent of our Lord, and when He comes we shall meet Him on the clouds. This hope carries us ever forward, bringing as many along in faith as we are able by Hos power.

VerseD: John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14, ESV

The most impossible thing happened: God became like us, God the Son taking on flesh to share His grace and truth with us to the glory of God the Father and for our salvation from wrath against sin.

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

John 13:35, ESV

Christ came for His Church. He commands we love His Church – each other – just as He does.

Sacrificially and even amidst pain.

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

Matthew 5:14, ESV

Christ has put His light in us, and we shine brightest when we are together. He uses us to shine in a world of darkness.

VerseD: Isaiah 9:2

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.

Isaiah 9:2, ESV

We all walk in the darkness of sin, unable to break through. God came to us in the Person of Jesus, the source of light breaking through our darkness.

By this light we are saved from sin.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7, ESV

We don’t want to love others, but the God who came to us to show His love can fill us with His love to then want to love others.
