VerseD: Acts 3:19

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out

The Father loves us and invites us as we are, but He does not expect us to stay as we have been.

God expects us to change, to be transformed by the Holy Spirit to be more like His Son.

VerseD: 1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9, ESV

There is no forgiveness without confession and repentance.

Give your sin to God, and find peace.

If it helps, tell a trusted Christian brother or sister.

VerseD: Proverbs 16:18

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 16:18, ESV

Do not think you can do everything on your own. Sometimes we all need help.

Especially in matters of eternity. We all need Christ to escape The Fall.

VerseD: Psalm 51:10

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalm 51:10, ESV

Only God can make us good and clean.

Lord, give us wisdom to seek You, and clean our hearts and minds as You cleanse our souls.

VerseD: Titus 3:10

As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him,
Titus 3:10, ESV

Some people only want to cause trouble. They gossip, demean, and mock, all in the guise of “prayer” and “accountability”.

Tell them stop, and if they refuse to listen avoid them (even to the point of kicking them out of the congregation).

VerseD: Proverbs 3:7

Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
Proverbs 3:7, ESV

Do not assume you know more than God or that He lacks understanding. Realize your need for His grace and forgiveness, that His way is right, and that your life is in His hands.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 7:10

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
2 Corinthians 7:10, ESV

We should feel guilty for our sins, and it should produce grief that we “hurt God”. But it is only good grief if we turn from our sin.

It is the difference between Peter and Judas Iscariot.

VerseD: Romans 10:9

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Romans 10:9, ESV

There is no other way to God but through Jesus.

You must believe in Him. Barring a few exceptions, you must confess this truth. Without these, you are still in your sins and separated from Him.

VerseD: John 19:30

When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
John 19:30, ESV

Jesus died for our sinful rebellion, and the work of forgiveness was completed at the cross. Nothing more is needed.

Believe this. Trust Him. Turn to and be washed by His grace. Let the Holy Spirit change you.

VerseD: Zephaniah 2:3

Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, who do his just commands; seek righteousness; seek humility; perhaps you may be hidden on the day of the anger of the Lord.
Zephaniah 2:3, ESV

Only those who can admit they need a Savior and can follow His commands will be saved from the coming judgment. Only in this life is possible to turn and be cleaned.
