VerseD: James 5:13

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.

James 5:13, ESV

We can give thanks to God in everything, but we can also ask for healing and peace. Whether He grants that request in this life, we can praise Him that we know we await eternal life free from pain and suffering.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 12:25-27

that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

1 Corinthians 12:25‭-‬27, ESV

We tend to be selfish, self-focuded. In Christ, the Holy Spirit helps us genuinely care for others, joining in weeping and pain as well as celebrating and laughing. All to the glory of God.

VerseD: Revelation 21:4

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Revelation 21:4, ESV

We have so many fears and pains in this world, but our hope is that one Glorious Day, our Lord will remove all the reasons for pain and fear, will comfort us continually, and heal us completely.

VerseD: Psalm 59:16

But I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.

God can handle anything in His sovereignty over everything. We can trust Him, whether this life going well or we are at our wits’ end from fear, frustration, or pain.

VerseD: Hebrews 12:11

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Our world largely seeks to avoid pain and difficult circumstances (or seeks them wrongly), but God will allow and even send painful circumstances to help grow more like Christ.

VerseD: Revelation 21:4

At Christ’s return, there will be no more need for crying as we finally see His full redemptive work fully realized throughout Creation, and all our worries and pains are gone.

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.

Our Lord understands us completely, and those who can be humble and admit their hurts and needs are closer to Him than they may realize and will see Him one day face to face.

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Trials, temptations, and pains come out way that make us want to give up the faith, walk away from it responsibilities.

God moves in our weakest moments to give us faith and strength to persevere.

VerseD: Isaiah 25:8

He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,  for the Lord has spoken.

When Christ came, He took away our sin and shame.

When Christ comes, He will remove pain, fear, sadness, and death forever.

Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

We strive to do what is best for our neighbors (anyone). The world tries to say it means no pain, but sometimes what is best comes through pain: like hearing you are in need of salvation.
