VerseD: Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12, NASB

Scripture reveals sin. Jesus, the Word of God, will judge us by His Word, knowing every thought and intention.

Live by the revealed Word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to move in you and change your thoughts and desires.

VerseD: Psalm 143:10

Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Psalm 143:10, NASB

Letting go of our own will to allow the Holy Spirit to conform us to God’s will is hard, but to be more like Jesus our Lord requires it.

VerseD: Matthew 19:26

And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26, NASB

Salvation alone is found in Christ. We can never attain perfection nor God’s approval any other way.

VerseD: Isaiah 43:19

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19, ESV

No other religion offers what Christianity does. All others say there is something we must do to be good, but God says, “Only through my Son can you be made good and all of Creation be restored to goodness.”

VerseD: Philippians 1:6

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6, ESV

We have the promise and reminder: We are made new, but our transformation is not complete until Jesus returns.

Until then, live out your salvation with fear and trembling.

VerseD: 2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9, NASB

Jesus will return, on His timetable. It is okay to long for His return, but remember that He is waiting for the full number of those who believe.

VerseD: Colossians 3:1

Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Colossians 3:1, NASB

All of our power and worth comes from who Christ is: the Son of God, perfect and blameless, who died for our salvation.

Turn to Him in every moment of every day.

VerseD: John 15:4

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
John 15:4, NASB

We are commanded to love God and love people, but it is at best difficult and at worst impossible without continually being consumed by the love of God through Jesus.

VerseD: Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14‭-‬16, NASB

Being a Christian means people will watch you.

Live in such a way that they see your good works and healthy relationships and want to know the God who made you.

VerseD: Matthew 18:20

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
Matthew 18:20, ESV

The context is church discipline, calling out sin in hopes of repentance from a wayward brother or sister.

Is that not also why we share the gospel?
