VerseD: Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:6, ESV

We either push God away or draw near to Him.
How do we draw near? By faith in Him, through reading the Bible, and through fellowship with other believers.

VerseD: 1 John 4:15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15, ESV

If we are saved,, we must each believe that the Jesus revealed in Scripture is the Son of God – fully God and fully human – who came and showed His love by dying for our sin. Then, we tell others by the power of God in us – the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: Habakkuk 2:14

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 2:14, ESV

It is our job as Christians to spread the Gospel to the whole world, yet a day is coming when Christ shall return and the whole earth will be filled with His glory. No one who doubts will remain, and we will have eternity with Him.

VerseD: Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8, ESV

Our Lord never changes. He is always loving, compassionate, and just.
His Word is still true: He does not abide sin [for long], but took our punishment on Himself, if we believe it.
Otherwise, those who refuse to follow Him are still under His wrath.

VerseD: Ephesians 4:32

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:32, ESV

Christ is our example: if He can forgive we who gave Him the death penalty and spray in His face, how much should we love those around us, especially other Christians? It is the least we can do, by His power.

VerseD: Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2, ESV

Unless you can admit you know little of how this world actually works and that your thinking and emotions are tainted by sin, it is impossible to discover God’s will. Let the Holy Spirit change your mind from worldly to heavenly.

VerseD: Romans 1:20

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
Romans 1:20, ESV

It is so evident that there is a God who created everything that no one can honestly deny His existence. To do so shows the sin of denial and idolatry and the need of a Savior from God’s wrath.
Jesus is our Savior!

VerseD: Romans 3:25

[Jesus] whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.
Romans 3:25, ESV

God’s mercy and grace are shown through not killing us immediately for our sins but coming Himself to take our punishment on Himself to save us who believe from His wrath.

VerseD: 1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1 John 4:18, ESV

Do we fear God? If we are still sinning intentionally, yes, because we may still be under His wrath. But by grace through faith, we are saved from His wrath because of His love, so we no longer have reason to fear His wrath or anything else in this world.

VerseD: Psalm 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Psalm 27:1, ESV

All truth, including God’s wrath against sin and His mercy and grace, is found and revealed in God. If we are freed from God’s wrath, what else is there to fear?
