We like to think we know best, but God calls us to a higher standard of His perfection. We must deny our own ways and take up His.

We can get in our own way too often. If we mortify the flesh (crucify our flesh, die to self, do away with our sinful desires) and seek to make Him known to this lost world, we shall join in Christ’s death and resurrection and inherit eternal glory.

Jesus did not want to die, but He did want us more.
We show we love God and others when we give Him our sinful (or merely inconsequential) wants and desires each moment, instead focusing on knowing and sharing His Gospel.
