VerseD: Matthew 27:51

And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.

Matthew 27:51, ESV

Good came to us and died for our sin that separated us from Him. Now nothing separates us when we are washed in His blood, as the torn temple curtain shows us.

VerseD: 1 Peter 4:16

Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

1 Peter 4:16, ESV

As our God came and suffered for us, we can expect to suffer for the name Christ. If they treated Him horribly, why should we expect any less? Let us feel honored to be treated the same as our Lord.

VerseD: John 13:34

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

John 13:34, ESV

God put us before His own comfort. Likewise, the world will see the truth of Jesus’ first and eventual second coming when they see the sacrificial love we have for each other within the Church.

VerseD: Philippians 2:7-8

but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

Philippians 2:7‭-‬8, ESV

Our God came to us, denying His privileges and hiding His glory, as a man, to show us the way, make us clean, and prepare a way until He returns or calls us home.

VerseD: Luke 19:38

saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

Luke 19:38, ESV

Our Savior has come, and our great King is coming again bringing the full peace of heaven as he restores all things.

This Sunday at Church: Pray and Encourage High Schoolers who have AP tests coming up

This particular weekend we had a youth apologetics conference, and those students were very grateful for answers for difficult questions. I had opportunity to pray with a few seniors who wanted answers for their upcoming tests at school, especially AP. (One student found out she took “too many” and thus would only need 2 years to finish college, so she was stressed that she might miss a full college experience!)

Let us lift up this coming generation of adults to the Lord.

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray and Encourage High Schoolers who have AP tests coming up.   The last few weeks and months our church kids were talking to me about the upcoming Advanced Placement test.   I know some of the kids at church are stressed about the AP exam. Brothers and […]

VerseD: Psalm 24

Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah

Psalm 24:10, ESV

May we find rest knowing our God is the King of glory, the only Lord and God.

VerseD: Psalm 4:8

In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 4:8, ESV

It only takes one little thing going wrong in this world to show us we are not in control. Let us trust the One who declares the end from the beginning, who knows and controls all things, and dwell in his peace.

Youth Prayer!

I am with my youth group at the Truth Quest Youth Apologetics Conference! Pray for these hundreds of youth here this weekend, and for those of us teaching/speaking! (I am teaching “Does God exist?”)

Thank you for your prayers!

VerseD: Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22‭-‬23, ESV

We are not saved because we can demonstrate love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the evidence we have been saved by grace through faith in Christ.
