VerseD: 1 Corinthians 16:13

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13, ESV

We can be childish in our reactions to problems and our own sinfulness. Instead, we should take responsibility for our own sin and trust God to handle our forgiveness and problems we face, eing ready to stand for and proclaim truth.

VerseD: Philippians 3:10-11

that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

Philippians 3:10‭-‬11, ESV

We can get in our own way too often. If we mortify the flesh (crucify our flesh, die to self, do away with our sinful desires) and seek to make Him known to this lost world, we shall join in Christ’s death and resurrection and inherit eternal glory.

VerseD: Revelation 21:4

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Revelation 21:4, ESV

We have so many fears and pains in this world, but our hope is that one Glorious Day, our Lord will remove all the reasons for pain and fear, will comfort us continually, and heal us completely.

This Sunday at Church: Pray with someone starting High School

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 10:5

We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ

2 Corinthians 10:5, ESV

Our own thoughts can betray us, so we trust Christ to help us. We use His Word and the Holy Spirit to defeat all arguments (even if the arguers refuse to listen.)

VerseD: Matthew 9:37-38

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

We want the world to change, but we often simply wait for it.

The Holy Spirit sends us into the world to make disciples of Christ. Heed the call and change the world.

VerseD: Matthew 5:44

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you

Matthew 5:44, ESV

It is easy to want retribution and revenge when people wrong us, but Holy Spirit can help us to not only pray for them but even love them with Christ’s love.

VerseD: John 16:33

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

John 16:33, ESV

This world can be overwhelming, but Jesus has sent the Holy Spirit that His peace may fill and comfort us.

VerseD: Psalm 119:114

You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.

Psalm 119:114, ESV

Many of us like escapism, getting away from our troubles through stories and events.

Yet, he Holy Spirit is our Great Comforter, reminding us of God’s promises through His Word.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 10:31

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31, ESV

We tend toward selfishness, but the Holy Spirit can help us glorify God in every area of life.
