VerseD: Ecclesiastes 7:9

Be not quick in your spirit to become angry, for anger lodges in the heart of fools.
Ecclesiastes 7:9, ESV

If you stay angry with someone, scripture calls you a fool.

Why?

Remaining angry solves nothing. Usually, sustained anger leads to bitterness and criticalness, and it can lead to sin and separation from others.

VerseD: Matthew 7:8

“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.”
Matthew 7:8, ESV

All are welcome to seek and call on the Name of the Lord.

Those who repent and believe then only need ask.

How many times do we not ask God for what we need, or even want?

VerseD: Matthew 7:7

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7, ESV

This is what Jesus means first and foremost, that in accordance to His will, when we ask, He wants to and will provide all of our needs.

Just like a good Father, though, God also enjoys giving us more than we expect or deserve.

So, seek Him and ask Him.

VerseD: Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
Psalm 32:8, ESV

God desires to teach us in how to live, and He has given us to primary sources:

  1. His Word (the Bible, but also Jesus),
  2. His Church.

Listen to both to live rightly.

VerseD: Matthew 6:25

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”
Matthew 6:25, ESV

It is easy to worry about things in this life.

To fight this, we should be so focused on The Life (Jesus) that we cannot help but trust that He is taking care of us.

VerseD: Matthew 22:37

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
Matthew 22:37, ESV

Most of everything hinges on this: We must love God first, most, and always.

Without this, we are wasting our time and energy. Out of the love for God, we are able to love others and truly do good.

VerseD: Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 1:7, ESV

Wisdom is learning from others.

True wisdom is learning that God has a perfect standard that no one can meet, but He made a way through His Son, and we take this knowledge and turn to Him.

VerseD: 1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
1 Peter 5:6, ESV

As the saying goes, He is God, and you are not.

But, amazingly, God lowered Himself to our level to become a man, to bring about our forgiveness and reconciliation, that we may be made like Him.

Submit to His will and His way, and He will lift us up.

VerseD: Psalm 1:1-2

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord , and on his law he meditates day and night.
Psalms 1:1‭-‬2, ESV

We are called to be different from this world, even the way we were born. The only way to do this is to read and think about God’s Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to let it change our way of thinking and living.

VerseD: Luke 1:37

“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
Luke 1:37 ESV

The only things impossible for God to do are those that are against His nature.

Natural laws are no hindrance.

Your beliefs and expectations are no hindrance.

Even for lack of imagination and faith are no hindrance.
