VerseD: John 10:7-9

So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.

John 10:7‭-‬9, ESV

There are many false teachers out there, but Jesus has given us His Word and the Holy Spirit to help us know His voice and truth.

VerseD: John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6, ESV

All truth must be filtered through Christ. This especially means the spiritual. We are only granted eternal life through believing in, obeying, and trusting Christ.

VerseD: John 15:4-5

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

John 15:4‭-‬5, NIV

Apart from Christ, we can’t do any truly good things. Only in Christ are we capable of truly good works, His righteousness infusing us and flowing through us.

VerseD: John 8:12

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12, ESV

By ourselves, we are cut off from the light of truth, but Jesus has shone into the world to overcome our blindness and ignorance.

See Him. Trust in Him.

VerseD: John 6:35

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

John 6:35, ESV

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,” said Jesus. He satisfies us spiritually foremost, yet He meets all our needs.

VerseD: John 10:11

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

John 10:11, ESV

The most verifiable truth of history is that our faithful God sacrificed His only Son for us.

We can trust in His goodness and verity (truth).

VerseD: Mark 16:6

And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him.”

Mark 16:6, ESV

We have a faith that can be tested: there is no body in the tomb. Don’t let reason be a reason you don’t believe, for it is a reasonable faith.

VerseD: John 20:15-16

Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher).

John 20:15‭-‬16, ESV

Circumstances in life can make us miss the truth right in front of our own faces.

Don’t let grief, self-righteousness, pain, or good things blind you to the crucified and risen Christ who calls us by name.

VerseD: Matthew 27:63-64

and said, “Sir, we remember how that impostor said, while he was still alive, ‘After three days I will rise.’ Therefore order the tomb to be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples go and steal him away and tell the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last fraud will be worse than the first.”

Matthew 27:63‭-‬64, ESV

We like to think we can outsmart God, even when we know the truth, but God is beyond our ways and understanding.

His plans cannot be stopped. It’s better to join Him.

VerseD: Matthew 26:51-52

And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword.

Matthew 26:51‭-‬52, ESV

We have a tendency to want to protect Jesus, but He is the one who came to save us.

We may make a defense of the Word, but The Word died for us knowing He would come back.
