VerseD: Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31, ESV

Our God sustains us and fuels us by His Spirit.

Wait on God patiently. Trust Him in all things. He may not move on our time, but He holds us in His hands throughout.

Versed: Joshua 1:8

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8, ESV

We should be regularly reading, reciting, and ruminating on (thinking about) Scripture. It helps with our day to day life and prepares us for the next life.

VerseD: John 15:7

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 15:7, ESV

Jesus is not saying that as a Christian you can ask for and get whatever you want or think you need.

Jesus is saying that the closer you are to Him, the more you will want what God wants, and you will get those things according to His will. (The full meaning of “in Jesus’ name” is to act in and take on the character of Jesus.)

VerseD: Luke 11:13

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:13, ESV

We all like giving good gifts, especially to those whom we love.

What better gifts could we get from our heavenly Father than forgiveness of sins through His Son and a Comforter who connects us to Him?

VerseD: Psalm 103:13

As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
Psalm 103:13, ESV

There is grace and compassion shown to all people, but only those who trust in God’s Son receive His full compassion and forgiveness.

VerseD: Ephesians 6:2

“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise),
Ephesians 6:2, ESV

They gave you life, so they are due some honor.

Or they raised you, so they deserve some respect.

Loving our parents shows our love for our heavenly Father.

VerseD: Psalm 68:5

Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.
Psalm 68:5, ESV

God is everything we need, the One who loves those whom feel unloved or unlovable – only in Him do we find our every longing and need met.

VerseD: 1 Peter 4:8

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8, ESV

If you are focused on how to love others like God does, you will not condone sin but you will stop focusing on their sin and love on them.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬5, ESV

Love is so much more than a feeling. It is a choice and an action. Our feelings can help us be patient and kind, but it is the power of the Gospel by the Holy Spirit that truly makes it possible.

Through these, we can be like Jesus who endured mocking and beatings to bring us joy.

Versed: Matthew 5:9

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Matthew 5:9, ESV

We should promote peace in our world, absolutely. The best way is through bringing others to peace with God by sharing the Gospel.
