This Sunday at Church: Honor those who have served at Church for years

It seems some people are content to just help things keep moving along smoothly, even without recognition. Sometimes they are seen as less vital, less important, but all saints are valued and important!

On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
1 Corinthians 12:22‭-‬25 ESV

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Honor those who have served at Church for years.   I know in the past I have written Thank someone who works behind the scene.  That was nearly three years ago. (I didn’t know I have been doing these Sunday series that long!).  But today’s post I want […]

This Sunday at Church: Honor those who have served at Church for years

VerseD: Ephesians 6:11

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Ephesians 6:11, ESV

We may not be perfect nor able to attain perfection on our own, but clothing ourselves in Christ clothes us in His perfection and empowers us to combat the evils of this world and their god.

VerseD: James 1:27

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

James 1:27, ESV

Caring for others, especially those most in need, shows that we know we are cared for by the One who helps us by redeeming our lives from the pit of death and destruction.

VerseD: 1 John 4:4

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1 John 4:4, ESV

The Devil and those who hate God and His people will do hat they can to stop the spread of the Gospel.

But we know that Christ lives in us by the Holy Spirit, and He has already overcome evil by His death and resurrection.

VerseD: Luke 16:10

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”

Luke 16:10, ESV

We are trusted more – by others and God – when we are faithful in various matters.

It also gives us peace knowing we have been faithful and true, especially as we trust in the only one who has been Faithful and True (Revelation 19:11).

VerseD: John 15:5

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15:5, ESV

In Christ, all things are possible.

Even if that means merely getting out of bed in the morning, or sharing the gospel with someone, or doing something you’ve never done.

Mostly, we find peace with God. Live in Christ.

VerseD: Hebrews 12:14

Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

Hebrews 12:14, ESV

We are given a ministry of reconciliation by our Lord Jesus who reconciled us to God by His blood, setting us aside as His own.

VerseD: Matthew 5:7

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Matthew 5:6, ESV

Christ is our righteousness. If the Lord is truly all we desire, we will find complete satisfaction and freedom from sin.

VerseD: Colossians 3:1

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:1, ESV

A new life I Christ means focusing on the holy, bringing the Kingdom to Earth by sharing Christ’s light through our lives of devotion to Him.

VerseD: Matthew 28:19

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Matthew 28:19, ESV

With the Authority of Christ with us, we have no reason to fear others, rather we should boldly proclaim the gospel to all.
