VerseD: Hebrews 6:19-20

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 6:19-20, ESV

We are called beyond the basic teachings of the gospel, to learn the deeper truths of God and His grace and truth. Because Christ has come to be our example and salvation, and God has promised by Himself that He has saved us and will come for us, we have a solid hope in Him. This pushes us to show love, grace, and truth to others.

VerseD: Hebrews 6:17-18

So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

Hebrews 6:17-18

God has called us to go beyond the basic teachings of the gospel, to grow in the knowledge of who God is. There is no one beyond God, and He promised by His own eternal, immutable self that He would save us (done in Christ) and would come back for us (at Christ’s return), and no one can take us from His hand.

VerseD: Hebrews 6:11-12

And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Hebrews 6:11-12, ESV

We are called to go beyond the initial teachings of the gospel, but we are called to remain faithful to those teachings, growing in love, grace, and truth and hoping in the promises of God.

VerseD: Hebrews 4:16

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:15, ESV

God has prepared a rest for us through Christ, and because of His life, death, and resurrection, we know we can approach God without fear and with hope for that rest from the pains and temptations of this life.

VerseD: Hebrews 4:15

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 4:15

God has prepared a rest for us through Christ, the one who understands our life and all the problems and temptations we face yet overcame them, even death. Faith in His life, death, and resurrection brings us hope for resurrection and rest from the problems and temptations.

VerseD: Hebrews 4:14

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

Hebrews 4:14, ESV

God has prepared a rest for those who believe in Christ, the only one who could live perfectly as a human but also the true God of Creation. We confess our Savior and God who grants rest for our souls through His sacrifice.

VerseD: Hebrews 4:13

And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Hebrews 4:13, ESV

God has prepared a rest for those who are cleansed by the blood of Christ, and He knows even the stains of sins we are unaware of. With our faith in Christ, as revealed by the Word, we can know we are clean with the hope of rest from fear, shame, and judgment.

VerseD: Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Hebrews 4:12, ESV

God has prepared an eternal rest for us, and we find this rest through the indwelling, Spirit-inspired Word of God which transforms us and guides us in all truth.

Versed: Hebrews 4:11

Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.

Hebrews 4:11, ESV

God has offered us rest for our souls in Christ. May we live in such a way that we can know that we will find complete rest, whether at death or at His return, knowing it is the Word living in us that saves us.

VerseD: Hebrews 4:10

for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

Hebrews 4:10, ESV‬

God has been preparing a place with no more toil, pain, and sin, and He has invited us through the sacrifice of Christ to enter into that restful place.
