VerseD: John 3:17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

On our own, we stand condemned. Jesus came to offer redemption from condemnation and hope for salvation and eternal life, if we are humble enough to accept it.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 12:10

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:10, ESV

God seems closest to us when we are at our lowest, usually because we are finally willing to listen and notice He has been showing Himself to us the whole time.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

God has revealed Himself in multiple ways, most especially through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. Faith is not blind, and it provides hope for the next life.

We like to think we know best, but God calls us to a higher standard of His perfection. We must deny our own ways and take up His.

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

We cannot be saved nor continue faithfully in sanctification if we are not focused on the life, death, resurrection, and sovereignty of Christ.

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

When our focus is on God, even the sufferings of this world will seem insignificant as we remember His suffering for us and the promise of renewal and restoration in the next life.

VerseD: Isaiah 55:6-7

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”

When our focus is on God, it leads others to possibly seek Him in this life while they can, turning from sin to God because of His light in us.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Our focus in life should be God, learning how to love Him fully with every part of our life that others may see our devotion and His goodness.

it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.

When we focus on the source of love and truth, we celebrate when love and truth thrive and mourn when sin and pain happen.

VerseD: Colossians 3:2

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:2, ESV

Let us focus on our Lord and His Kingdom, ushering such things on Earth as He sends us out into this twisted and broken world, restoring the unity with our God that He desires.
