VerseD: John 3:17

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
John 3:17, ESV

Jesus first came to bring us salvation. Turn to Him and believe in His death and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins.

Otherwise, we remain condemned and face judgment at His return.

VerseD: 1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
1 John 4:18, ESV

We should come to Christ because of the fear of our sin falling under God’s wrath. Yet, that fear is washed away with our sin by the blood of Jesus!

VerseD: Isaiah 54:10

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:10, ESV

The Lord proved His faithfulness by dying on the cross and rising again. He has said He is returning again, and all of the stars, mountains, and … everything will be removed and remade.

All to show His love.

VerseD: Zechariah 14:9

And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.
Zechariah 14:9, ESV

One glorious Day, our Lord is returning, and Creation will be renewed, sin and death gone, and He will be our light and life forever.

VerseD: Matthew 5:7

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
Matthew 5:7, ESV

Our Lord has shown us mercy by dying in our place.

We can at least show mercy to our fellow fallen humans in response.

VerseD: 1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1:7, ESV

Signs we are walking in the light:

  • We love the Church and seek fellowship,
  • We show repentance and a desire to remove all sin,
  • We strive to live in peace with all people,
  • We love and pursue truth.

VerseD: Isaiah 40:29

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
Isaiah 40:29, ESV

Our Father may give us physical strength, or He may give us emotional or psychological strength, but He always gives us the power to overcome evil and unrighteousness through the blood of Christ and by the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: Matthew 12:18

“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles.”
Matthew 12:18, ESV

Matthew quotes a prophecy about Jesus, fulfilled in His time. However, the Holy Spirit moves today through Hos Body, the Church, to reach the world for the Father’s glory.

VerseD: Romans 1:17

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

The Gospel reveals God’s love for us and our need for Him, and it gives us the hope and faith that His promises are true.

VerseD: Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10:23, ESV

Our faithful Lord is always here with us to help is remain faithful to His gospel, to share that gospel of His life, death, and resurrection and all His commands with this wicked and corrupt world.
