God deserves our thanks, and we find our thankfulness increases as we focus on God and giving Him our gratitude.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and the rivers will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, and the flame will not burn you.
Isaiah 43:2, CSB
The gospel is overcoming the fear of death and uncertainty, knowing Christ has overcome sin, death, and the forces of this world through His death and resurrection.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26, CSB
The gospel is the impossible happening: a hardened, evil heart being softened and made righteous by grace through faith in the work of Christ.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.

The gospel is overcoming fear, hatred, and sin in the power of Christ’s blood and of the Holy Spirit through repentance, faith, grace, and love.

The gospel is for all people, no matter their age or any other factor. Children understand more than often given credit, and the hardest heart can be softened to be like that of a child. Just believe.
For the word of God is living and effective and sharper than any double-edged sword, penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

The gospel is God changing our hearts from the inside out by the blood of Christ, because He knows us better than we know ourselves from the inside out and reveals that through His Word.
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”

The gospel is that Christ can save anyone, the worst of sinners, the strictest legalist religionist, and the person who thinks they can earn their way to heaven. Nothing is impossible with God.
Most of our deacons are retirement age, and one only left the military for disability while still of working age. All deacons need prayer, but especially as the get older and face more and more health concerns.
