VerseD: Isaiah 55:11

so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah‬ ‭55:11‬, ‭ESV‬

God does all things well, and through His Word – Jesus – He cleans up our sinful souls and makes our lives something beautiful. Trust in Him, and let the Holy Spirit cleanse you.

This Sunday at Church: Pray for Children in Difficult Churches

Church changes and new leadership are tough, but we don’t always see how it affects both sides. Pray for the families negatively affected by leadership, and pray for those who go along with bad leadership.

VerseD: Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Psalm‬ ‭19:1‬, ‭ESV‬

Creation itself shouts that there is a God, and He makes good and beautiful things. Seek Him, and see the beauty He can make in your life.

VerseD: Hebrews 12:11

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews‬ ‭12:11‬, ‭ESV‬

We don’t like to think we deserve to endure pain nor discipline, but our sin does lead to it. And God uses the events in our life to discipline us (grow and mature us) in Christ as His adopted sons (and daughters).

VerseD: Isaiah 60:3

And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Isaiah‬ ‭60:3‬, ‭ESV‬

As amazing as humanity can be, it is only God has made, redeems, and upholds His creation. As various peoples come to Him, we join in His redemptive work as He draws us and moves through us.

VerseD: Mark 8:35

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.

Mark‬ ‭8:35‬, ‭ESV‬

We start out selfish, but Christ came to die and rise again for our forgiveness that we may join in His sacrifice and love others more than ourselves for His sake.

VerseD: 1 Peter 4:8

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:8‬, ‭ESV‬

We often feel like we should enact justice, but God moves in us to love others with His love. Sometimes this involves using us to bring justice, but we are reminded that He paid the price for justice and will return to fulfill all justice against wickedness.

VerseD: Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.

Psalm‬ ‭9:1‬, ‭ESV‬

We thank God, our great King who has showered us with love, compassion, mercy, and grace. May we give Him all honor, especially in light of the cross.

VerseD: 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13

We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.

‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:12‭-‬13‬ , ESV‬

We all have spiritual authority over us, most importantly Christ. Let us respect them as they serve Christ and out of our love for Christ.

VerseD: Psalm 34:8

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Psalm‬ ‭34:8‬ ‭ESV‬

Seeking and following God affects every area of life, and He is more than sufficient for our care. Trust in Him!
