VerseD: Joshua 1:9

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9, ESV

We know we have the strength and peace to face this world, because our sovereign and all-powerful God is with those of us who believe.

This Sunday at Church: Pray for the salvation of any unbeliever hearing the Sermon today

Our team does this every week as we prepare to begin. The Church does not meet for evangelism, but people often know to come to hear the gospel. May we always be ready.

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for the salvation of any unbeliever hearing the Sermon today. I thought I have written on praying for nonbelievers to be saved before for a post with our ongoing “This Sunday” series but apparently I somehow didn’t have this before! There’s […]

VerseD: Matthew 22:37-39

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Matthew 22:37‭-‬39, ESV

More than a feeling, more than logical assent, loving God means obeying all He has commanded, including loving our fellow image-bearers and sinners.

VerseD: Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Romans 15:13, ESV

We may struggle in this life – whether from our own sin and mistakes or the way this world works – but in Christ the Father has given us His hope and peace through the Holy Spirit.

VerseD: Proverbs 22:4

The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.

Proverbs 22:4, ESV

We think too highly of ourselves far too often, but if we truly “look inside our hearts,” we would see our need for God. Seek Him today and find eternal life.

VerseD: 2 Peter 1:3

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence

2 Peter 1:3, ESV

We like to think we understand life and our world, but it is only in Christ that we find true knowledge and love truly good lives.

VerseD: Psalm 68:19

Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Selah

Psalm 68:19, ESV

We fail. Often.

But when we get over ourselves and trust in and praise our God, He gives us rest and helps us to be faithful.

VerseD: 1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:7, ESV

While we often fall short, as we follow the light of Christ we will sin less and less. We already are redeemed of all sin, so let us thank our Lord and God.

VerseD: Proverbs 23:24

The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.

Proverbs 23:24, ESV

We all make mistakes, but wisdom is learning from mistakes: our own and those of others. It is also learning from our Heavenly Father, bringing joy to our earthly family.

This Sunday at Church: Pray for those who attend church would have the right motivation with going to church

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for those who attend church would have the right motivation with going to church. My church is a small church.  Over the years people have left saying its too small.  I think there’s times when people might leave a church for […]
