VerseD: 2 Timothy 1:7

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

2 Timothy 1:7, ESV

Our God loves enough to come and die in our place of punishment and overcome death. What should we fear? How much should we now strive to serve Him faithfully?

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV

We are sinful, yet our God has made a way for us to be cleansed through the blood of Christ. When we are cleansed, we are spiritually made new, our mind being conformed to Christ’s, as we await Hos return and full physical renewal, as well.

VerseD: Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein

Psalm 24:1, ESV

God is the Creator of everything, even us, and He can do as He pleases with us.

Let’s give Him thanks and praise that He has chosen to save us from our sin by the blood of the Son.

VerseD: Amos 5:24

But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

Amos 5:24, ESV

On our own, we seek our own glory and rightness.

Yet, when we confess our need for the Savior – the justice brought at the cross and the righteousness only given in Christ – we are changed to seeking God’s glory by His standard.

VerseD: Matthew 23:11

The greatest among you shall be your servant.

Matthew 23:11, ESV

We see how Christ humbled Himself to free us from sin. We also humble ourselves to serve each other and help become more Christ-like.

VerseD: Ephesians 4:2

with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love

Ephesians 4:2 ESV

We all have sinful pasts, so let us show grace and love, remembering where we come from and that God has done the same for us.

VerseD: Luke 9:23-24

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

Luke 9:23‭-‬24, ESV

We willing give up our sin, which means giving it to Christ who took it all on the cross. It is the only true sacrifice we ha e to make.

To hold on is to give up eternal life.

Re-Birth Celebration

On this day 22 years ago, at 6:46 PM CST, I bent my knee to Jesus as Lord and Savior. (If you do a search on this site for “birthday”, you will see the various explanations.)

I like to call it my Re-Birthday, as we call faith in Christ being born again. This comes from John 3 and 1 Peter 1.

A great thing this year is that my Re-Birthday falls on Sunday, which means it is a true Re-Birthday and I get to be with the Church and worship our Lord today!

Also, it is my mother-in-law’s birthday, so join me in wishing her a happy and blessed day! If not for her, I would not have my wife!

God bless you, and remember that Jesus Christ is the reason we live and move and breathe and have meaning!

VerseD: Matthew 18:20

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”

Matthew 18:20, ESV

We call out sin. We repent. We glorify God.

Together.

In Christ.

VerseD: Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23, ESV

We all have sinned. We all deserve death.

Yet, our God is full of grace, mercy, and forgiveness, shown through the cross of Jesus Christ. Our faith in Him is what grants us eternal life.
