VerseD: Matthew 5:7

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Matthew 5:6, ESV

Christ is our righteousness. If the Lord is truly all we desire, we will find complete satisfaction and freedom from sin.

This Sunday at Church: Praise God for those healed that had Omicron

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Praise God for those healed that had Omicron. A few weeks ago I wrote “Pray for those with Omicron.”  Yet at the same time I think we can praise God for those who have been healed from having the virus.  I know there have been some who read […]

VerseD: 1 John 3:16

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

1 John 3:16, ESV

God showed His love by becoming like one who hates Him (us) to pay our penalty.

We too can love those who offend us – and even who make us happy – by sacrificing our own feelings, wants, needs, and even lives.

VerseD: Luke 6:45

The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Luke 6:45, ESV

It is what we treasure that flows out of us.

Do we long for personal satisfaction, or do we long for God to be glorified out of our love for Him and therefore our love for others?

The only good in us is God in us.

VerseD: 1 John 2:15-16

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

1 John 2:15‭-‬16, ESV

We love the people in the world, but only with the love of God. We must love His Word, His commandments, and His gospel, not the pleasures and desires of this world.

VerseD: 1 Timothy 6:12

Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6:12, ESV

The fight of faith is to glorify God. That means that we work out salvation and openly seek to grow in Christ to bring others to faith!

VerseD: Colossians 3:1

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:1, ESV

A new life I Christ means focusing on the holy, bringing the Kingdom to Earth by sharing Christ’s light through our lives of devotion to Him.

VerseD: Deuteronomy 6:5

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

Deuteronomy 6:5, ESV

Our God has saved us. How could we not want to live Him with everything we are?

VerseD: Psalm 30:5

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Psalm 30:5, ESV

We begin under God’s wrath for our sin. Yet, in Christ’s atoning sacrifice we find His favor. What joy we find knowing we have been redeemed by our God.

This Sunday at Church: Email Sermon Notes to those who can’t make it to Service

I mean, this is one reason I blog my sermons. It was so parents and grandparents and a few others could hear/see/read them. Some of them have given up on technology or this world (passed away), but I still do it for the sake of the church and accountability.
