VerseD: 3 John 1:2

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.
3 John 1:2, ESV

God does not guarantee good health nor a pain-free time in this life, but He is our great healer and comforter. So, pray for His healing hand to remain over you, but always to remain within His will.

VerseD: Hebrews 13:5

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5, ESV

Do we show this world we want the creature comforts of this life or that we have a hope of eternity with the Lover of our souls?

VerseD: Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17, ESV

We learn of Christ through His Word, the Bible, and those who have believed the Eternal Word must share it and Him with others.

VerseD: John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25‭-‬26, ESV

Not everyone will die physically: those of us who believe Jesus, the Son of God, physically came to live, to die for our sins, and rose again, will inherit eternal life through Him; and some will be taken up with Him at His return having never physically died.

VerseD: 1 Peter 1:24

for “All flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls
1 Peter 1:24, ESV

Anything we do is temporary, and we are all destined to die.

It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we enter eternal life.

VerseD: James 5:13

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
James 5:13, ESV

As the Church, we should pray and mourn with those who suffer and celebrate and sing with those who are happy.
It shows God’s love and compassion with all people.

VerseD: John 15:4

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
John 15:4, ESV

All that we do is tainted by sin, like a plant in a planter without good water or nutrients barely growing. We need the life-giving water of the Holy Spirit to truly do good works to bring glory to God.

The Church during 2020: Pray for believers whose church ended this year

We are fortunate that our little congregation is growing in this time, and that we know of a church that almost closed in a small rural area. We are sending one of our elders as a local missionary to pastor that tiny church. Not many are that fortunate.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:18‭-‬20 ESV

VerseD: 1 Peter 5:6

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you
1 Peter 5:6, ESV

Nothing we can do can save us nor earn us glorified eternal bodies. Being willing to admit we need infinite help from our limitless Creator God who saves through His Son by the power of the Holy Spirit and glorifies is what leads us to salvation.
