I did not check my e-mails or feed until late Sunday night, so this timing may feel off. However, a call and encouragement to pray for others is always timely!
Daniel

Two weeks ago I wrote “This Sunday at Church: Thank someone who works behind the scene.”
This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for someone.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
Ephesians 4:26, ESV
It is okay to be angry over unrighteousness, injustice, and cruelty. We must give that anger to God. Vengeance belongs to Him. Love your neighbor.
While this is not part of the case exactly, it is important to understand WHY the YEC is superior to the OEC position for reasons non textual or scientific. Like I always say in my videos- WHY is this conversation worth having? Merely so I can claim to be right about Genesis 1?
No.
And not merely because I think this position is actually TRUE and defensible. I think the earth is round, but I have no desire to debate flat earthers on it, because I don’t think it matters at all.
Monkey can’t find a reason to care.

From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!
Psalm 113:3, ESV
God is worthy of all praise and worship. All the time.
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31, ESV
Our God sustains us and fuels us by His Spirit.
Wait on God patiently. Trust Him in all things. He may not move on our time, but He holds us in His hands throughout.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
Joshua 1:8, ESV
We should be regularly reading, reciting, and ruminating on (thinking about) Scripture. It helps with our day to day life and prepares us for the next life.
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
John 15:7, ESV
Jesus is not saying that as a Christian you can ask for and get whatever you want or think you need.
Jesus is saying that the closer you are to Him, the more you will want what God wants, and you will get those things according to His will. (The full meaning of “in Jesus’ name” is to act in and take on the character of Jesus.)
Evolution is even more sad and indefensible than the Big Bang. Now, of course, you need to define evolution so it means what Darwin meant. Too many people water it down until they are merely saying “Change over time.” But everything in the universe changes over time, so if evolution merely means change over time, then it means anything which ever happens. In short, things happen. This is true, but hardly worth saying, and certainly not what Darwin meant when he wrote a whole book on the subject. When I talk about evolution, I am talking about the story that something like a bacteria somehow changed into worms which somehow changed into fish, which changed into lizards, which changed into mammals, some of which are us.
Skeptical Giraffe doesn’t buy your “worms to man” story.

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:13, ESV
We all like giving good gifts, especially to those whom we love.
What better gifts could we get from our heavenly Father than forgiveness of sins through His Son and a Comforter who connects us to Him?
