VerseD: 2 Corinthians 7:10

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
2 Corinthians 7:10, ESV

We should feel guilty for our sins, and it should produce grief that we “hurt God”. But it is only good grief if we turn from our sin.

It is the difference between Peter and Judas Iscariot.

VerseD: Matthew 18:3-5

[Jesus] said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me”
Matthew 18:3‭-‬5, ESV

Children know they don’t know everything and that they need help.

We need Christ’s forgiveness to and grace, and we need His wisdom.

VerseD: John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
JOHN 3:16, NASB

God is so much about relationship with us that He did what no other deity has offered: He became human, and then He died for our rebellion.

It sounds foolish to the world, that God He did this and rose from the dead, but believing this is what saves.

VerseD: Colossians 2:6

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him
Colossians 2:6, NASB

We receive Christ by hearing and believing the gospel. Likewise, we should be sharing the gospel and doing good works to help others come to the same saving faith.

VerseD: Acts 2:21

‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’
Acts 2:21, NASB

There is only one way to eternity with God: believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and make Him Lord of your life.

Any other path leads to eternal destruction.

VerseD: Matthew 19:26

And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Matthew 19:26, NASB

Salvation alone is found in Christ. We can never attain perfection nor God’s approval any other way.

VerseD: Philippians 1:6

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6, ESV

We have the promise and reminder: We are made new, but our transformation is not complete until Jesus returns.

Until then, live out your salvation with fear and trembling.

VerseD: Philippians 2:12

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
Philippians 2:12, ESV

We should be motivated by love and the concern of disappointing the One we love that we do good works and share the gospel with this fallen world.

VerseD: Romans 10:17

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17, NASB

How can others come to faith in Christ unless we tell them?

The Father enjoys using His faithful children to spread the gospel of His Son.

VerseD: 1 John 4:15

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
1 John 4:15, ESV

If confess and believe that Jesus is the Son of God, God incarnate – God in the flesh, fully God and fully man – and that He lived a perfect life to die as our atonement on the cross and then rise back to life …

… you are saved. God dwells in you through the Holy Spirit to the glory of the Father.
