VerseD: Proverbs 3:11-12

My son, do not reject the [d]discipline of the Lord
Or loathe His reproof,
For whom the Lord loves He reproves,
Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Proverbs 3:11-12, NASB

We face problems and difficulties in this life, many of which come from our own bad decisions. Oftentimes, God uses our circumstances to teach us through consequences. If we are wise, we listen to His Word before we suffer, but He offers His correction through the Word and consequences because He loves us and wants us to grow in wisdom and overcome this world.

VerseD: 2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16‭-‬17, ESV

Everything in the 66 books from Genesis through Revelation was given through men by God to show us how (and not) to live, find the truth of Christ, and grow together in godliness.

VerseD: Proverbs 12:1

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.

Proverbs 12:1

God has a standard, a perfect way He expects us to live. Not choosing to follow leads to pain and death. Accepting we can never attain perfection on our own, we turn to the Perfect One who made a way for us.

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

2 Timothy 3:16, ESV

The Bible points us to Christ, helps us grow in Christ, and helps us lead others in and for Christ.

Trust the Word. Trust God.

VerseD: Proverbs 15:31

The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.
Proverbs 15:31 ESV

Whether being talked out of a stupid idea or convinced of sin and separation from God, listening to wise advice (telling you you are stupid or wrong) will save your life.

VerseD: 2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16‭-‬17, ESV

God moved through men to write the Bible. Every word of it can be used for teaching, preaching, correcting sinful behavior, and growing closer to God.

This is why we want to read it regularly. (Daily, if possible!)

VerseD: 2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16‭-‬17 ESV

The Father inspired every word in the Bible. It is not just to give us comfort. God desires to reveal and remove our sin to then make us more like His Son through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Honestly, this often is not comfortable.

But it is worth it.
