God has said He will be with us, and this should encourage and empower us to obey His commands even when pressured by the world and even friends and family to live for ourselves or to make others happy before God.

We know God is with us, so we seek to please Him even if the rest of the world tells us to follow what seems good. We are open to corrections but it must align with Scripture and conscience in the Holy Spirit.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:6, ESV
We cannot know nor please God if we do not have faith that He exists and sent His Son to live, die, and rise again for our redemption.
