VerseD: Luke 2:14

Our Father in heaven deserves praise and honor for sending His Son, the Prince of Peace, to give us the hope of our salvation.

VerseD: John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14, ESV

God became one of us to bring us grace, truth, forgiveness, and hope.

VerseD: Matthew 1:21

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:21, ESV

A faithful servant of God carried The Faithful One because of the hope of His saving blood, and her faithful betrothed helped.
What a picture of what the Church can be with Christ.

VerseD: Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14, ESV

God came to us in a most unexpected way: as a human baby. But the man He grew into brought us hope and salvation from God’s wrath through His death and resurrection!

VerseD: Luke 12:40

“You also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Luke 12:40, ESV

Jesus can return at any moment. This should give us a sense of urgency to proclaim the Gospel and of hope in the end of suffering and evil.

VerseD: Mark 1:2-4

As it is written in Isaiah the prophet, “Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way, the voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,’” John appeared, baptizing in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

Just as John got people ready for the ministry of Jesus by teaching repentance, we should be getting people ready for the return of Christ.

We are adopted children of God by faith in Christ. We are siblings by Blood.

VerseD: Jeremiah 31:3

the Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.
Jeremiah 31:3, ESV

God has appeared to the True Israel, now from a distance of time, and demonstrated His love and faithfulness by bearing our punishment and shame. And He is with us always until His return.

VerseD: Colossians 1:13

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son
Colossians 1:13, ESV

In Christ, we no longer are slave to sin, but we are clothed in the righteousness of Christ and given freedom.

VerseD: Psalm 9:1-2

I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:1‭-‬2, ESV

Perspectives matter. Yes, there are plenty of bad things in this life. There are also good and beautiful things provided by God, most especially His grace and mercy as found at the cross.
