VerseD: Colossians 3:23-24

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

With all the differing ideas in our world, we obey the command of God to “work and tend” the land. We don’t answer to people (though we should have answers). We work as worship to God.

VerseD: Psalm 147:3

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

This world causes us so much pain and misery, but our God can comfort and heal us, ultimately healing our souls and granting us glorified bodies in eternity. Let us worship such a powerful, compassionate God.

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

We don’t and probably can’t comprehend how great the saving grace of our God is, and one glorious day we will join with the multitudes of saints in universal praise of our God!

We like to know we’re right, so it can be hard to hear out other people. But the God who hears our every prayer empowers us to want to hear the other side, to listen to our fellow image-bearers, even when we know they’re wrong, to show the grace of Christ.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.

We want to do our own thing, but we are called to perfection. Only by pursuing and imitating Christ can we get over ourselves and act like God’s children.

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

We are rebellious and even speak against God, but we can also be saved by believing in and confessing the life, atoning death, and resurrection of Jesus, our Lord and God.

I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

It is easy to giveinto temptation, but reading and memorizing God’s Word and trusting the Holy Spirit will help protect us from sin.

VerseD: Matthew 11:28-29

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Our own work and worries can feel burdensome, but doing the work of Christ’s Kingdom may be hard work but it is eternally rewarding and leads to spiritual rest.

Our God saved us from His wrath, so why would we not want to bring Him all praise and worship!

See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.

We rebelled against God, yet He came to show goodness to us.

Likewise, we show kindness to each other inside and outside the Church to show His goodness.
