This Sunday at Church: Discuss with a Youth what they learn from mid-week Youth Group

I do this, but partially because we have been doing the same thing on Wednesdays as Sunday mornings. Also, I drop random oral quizzes … 😉

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Discuss with a Youth what they learn from mid-week Youth Group. The youth in our church are important.  They are the future generation of the church.  So we should care about them. And one way to encourage them with the things of God is to ask what […]

VerseD: Habakkuk 3:17-18

Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.

Habakkuk 3:17‭-‬18, ESV

Our sovereign God is in control. We have nothing to fear, for we know He has a plan. We will one day have the joy of eternal peace in His presence.

VerseD: Proverbs 16:24

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.

Proverbs 16:24, ESV

Everyone likes compliments, but sometimes we just need some good news, some encouragement. The greatest news is that God loves us even though we rebel, and He sent His Son to reconcile us to Himself.

VerseD: Matthew 6:34

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Matthew 6:34, ESV

God is with us and helping us through this life. Don’t worry. Turn to Him.

VerseD: 1 Peter 3:12

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

1 Peter 3:12, ESV

God is ever-present in our lives, but He pulls away from evil. Let us stay within His presence by seeking Him and His righteousness.

VerseD: Zechariah 14:9

And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one.

Zechariah 14:9, ESV

God is with us via the Holy Spirit, but when Christ returns to reign on Earth, then we will be with God for eternity.

VerseD: Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13, ESV

God is with us when He is in us. We find God through Jesus, the one who came for us, and then He indwells us by His Holy Spirit.

VerseD: Isaiah 55:8-9

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:8‭-‬9, ESV

God is with us, but He is so far beyond us. We cannot understand how He acts, but we can know He loves us and has saved us.

This Sunday at Church: Pray for Our Church’s Midweek Upcoming Apologetics’ Series

Jimmy’s church is starting Apologetics this week. I am in a Youth Apologetics conference (TruthQuestPrecott.org) early next month before beginning a Christianity 101 class for my church that same weekend. I definitely feel this and also seek prayer for the youth and families.

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for Our Church’s Midweek Upcoming Apologetics’ Series. I know this week’s “This Sunday at Church” is more personal for my own church context.  But I thought I share it so the prayers isn’t generic.  Plus I think its neat to have another local church pray for […]

VerseD: Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1, ESV

Immanuel. God with us. The world may get crazy, but God is our comfort at all times, living in us by the Holy Spirit.
