This Sunday at Church: Praying more people would come to a Biblical view of the Preborn

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Praying more people would come to a Biblical view of the Preborn.   This past week I’m sure we have seen a lot of so called Christians display views that does not acknowledge the personhood of the preborn.  I think there’s a lot of teachings that needs […]

This Sunday at Church: Encourage a father who is turning his life around

We have a couple of fathers in our congregation currently striving. One became a Christian just this past January. Another saw his son choose to be baptized, and it is encouraging him to take faith more seriously.

It takes work. It takes sacrifice. It takes rhw Church.

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Encourage a father who is turning his life around. In past years I have posted This Sunday at Church: Encourage a father that’s an Example to Others and This Sunday at Church: Encourage a father going through a hard time with his kids.  Those are important.  But I also […]

This Sunday at Church: Praying with those joining the military

I almost signed up with the Marine Corps. I had/have several friends and family in all of the branches. I was instead blessed with praying for and helping support families and military members. They need all the prayers they can get!

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Praying with those joining the military.   Last week Sunday we posted “Praying with those who are graduating and anxious with the future.” In the past I have posted a few posts about those in your church leaving off for college. I thought those who might be joining […]

This Sunday at Church: Encourage a mom with any of these seven biblical truths

Not just one Sunday a year, but all year long. Let us remind mothers they are loved and appreciated.

I remember once in an argument with my own mother, saying – in the heat of anger, showing God’s grace flowing – “I’m waking away to keep from causing greater disrespect!” Not ten seconds later my mom was hugging me and crying. Neither of us had been fully right, but she knew I had referenced the Fifth Commandment when I tried to storm off.

God’s Word is what reminded us to love each other and immediately reconcile. And this is the woman who led her sisters in to full reconciliation with their mom over the next years.

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Encourage a mom with any of these seven biblical truths. It might be something hard to try to encourage moms, whether you are a mom or not.  I was trying to think of what truths one can share to mothers at church. Here’s seven truths from Scriptures: […]

This Sunday at Church: Offer to babysit to a Parent at Church

My wife and I happen to be doing this very thing this week! It is a fun idea to help out parents every once in a while.

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Offer to babysit to a Parent at Church.   I figure this might be a good idea with mother’s day in May. Sometimes moms need a break.  Sometimes a married couple need some time together to sort things out with each other.  It be a good idea […]

This Sunday at Church: Talk to someone at church that has no fellow peer in the person’s age group

Even with peers my own age, I was one of those odd ones who was marginalized because I went hostile to the Gospel to fully evangelical. I was put in leadership, like Jimmy discusses.

I found it easier to talk with others. Now, I have some youth who find it easier to talk with me and therefore others, because they are the “odd ones out.”

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Hebrews 10:24‭-‬25, ESV

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Talk to someone at church that has no fellow peer in the person’s age group.   This might be largely applicable in smaller churches.  But then again sometimes big churches has a large segment of a certain demographics be it young family, young adults, etc.  In such […]

This Sunday at Church: Explain to someone about the Propitiation

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Explain to someone about the Propitiation.   What’s the doctrine of Propitiation?  This here explains it: Do you know what is the doctrine of Redemption, Propitiation, Justification and Adoption? This doctrine is precious. It explains how Christ satisfies God’s wrath that is against sinners.  Sadly many Christians will […]

This Sunday at Church: Pray and Encourage High Schoolers who have AP tests coming up

This particular weekend we had a youth apologetics conference, and those students were very grateful for answers for difficult questions. I had opportunity to pray with a few seniors who wanted answers for their upcoming tests at school, especially AP. (One student found out she took “too many” and thus would only need 2 years to finish college, so she was stressed that she might miss a full college experience!)

Let us lift up this coming generation of adults to the Lord.

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray and Encourage High Schoolers who have AP tests coming up.   The last few weeks and months our church kids were talking to me about the upcoming Advanced Placement test.   I know some of the kids at church are stressed about the AP exam. Brothers and […]

This Sunday at Church: Honor those who have served at Church for years

It seems some people are content to just help things keep moving along smoothly, even without recognition. Sometimes they are seen as less vital, less important, but all saints are valued and important!

On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
1 Corinthians 12:22‭-‬25 ESV

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Honor those who have served at Church for years.   I know in the past I have written Thank someone who works behind the scene.  That was nearly three years ago. (I didn’t know I have been doing these Sunday series that long!).  But today’s post I want […]

This Sunday at Church: Discuss with a Youth what they learn from mid-week Youth Group

I do this, but partially because we have been doing the same thing on Wednesdays as Sunday mornings. Also, I drop random oral quizzes … 😉

Daniel

For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Discuss with a Youth what they learn from mid-week Youth Group. The youth in our church are important.  They are the future generation of the church.  So we should care about them. And one way to encourage them with the things of God is to ask what […]
