This Sunday at Church: Pray for unsaved recent visitors to be saved

This has been on our hearts this past month, as a man we have been praying for with friends for this past year finally started coming with them to church. He is asking so many great questions and often breaks down in tears.

Join us in praying for the lost!

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for unsaved recent visitors to be saved. Around this time of the year there are people visiting churches.  Sometimes they are visiting because they have a sense of religiousness; yet they still don’t know and have not trusted in the Gospel.  […]

This Sunday at Church: Not taking things at Church for granted

I am “not allowed” to take on more responsibilities at church because of all I already do. Yet, I have had to step in with every ministry at some point. People get sick, things stop working, life happens. And we currently are in a position of weekly set-up and tear-down.

These have helped me personally know things can happen, that I should not take for granted the flow of each church service and event.

Let us always be ready to jump in and help where needed.

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Not taking things at Church for granted. I think we can easily assume things will always be the same at church.  We can easily assume others will always be the ones that set things up for our church to be the way […]

This Sunday at Church: Pray for those who care for an ill loved one

This almost feels selfish, because my wife and I currently make trips to help care for her elderly grandmother.

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for those who care for an ill loved one. I know some of you on WordPress also are busy with taking care of your spouse with serious conditions.  I’ve prayed for you.  But it made me think about those in similar […]

Back Home from Fall 2022 Trip!

Worth a quick read from brother Jimmy.

Daniel

I am now home from my missions trip.  Basically my trip back home began 10 PM on Thursday California Time (Pacific Standard Time) and I got back on Sunday. Thank you all for your prayers.  I think I was more fatigue with jet lag with this trip than other previous trips.  I must be getting […]

This Sunday at Church: Pray for the overseas ministries your church support

We are currently in the midst of changing ministers overseas, so this is quite pertinent. I will be having a conversation with the new ministry leader this week. He is a local taking over for a missionary we had sent out! Please join us in lifting up all who do the Lord’s work abroad and who take over in there home!

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for the overseas ministries your church support. I love seeing how different churches support the work of advancing the Gospel overseas.  We must never forget the church has the Great Commission to go to the nations and preach the Gospel. So […]

This Sunday at Church: Pray for recovery after Hurricane Ian

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for recovery after Hurricane Ian. I realize news of the Hurricane is past; our news cycle only cover a certain time; our social media age also mean most people’s attention span is short before the next news story gets its fame […]

This Sunday at Church: Pray for those who lost someone in their family this year

I have thought about this recently. My last biological grandparent (my mom’s mom) passed on January 1 this year (in her 90’s). This past week, my wife’s last grandparent has given us all a ‘scare’ (89 years old), and may be on her way (or may last another few years). This is the grandma whose husband was a Lutheran pastor for years, and when I was ordained I was given his ordination cross (3 years after he passed).

We have all had good relationships. Yeah, this has not been a great year in terms of death in the family, but everyone has been found in Christ so far, giving us that comfort.

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray for those who lost someone in their family this year. This week I learned that the person that discipled me when I was 18 years old has just passed away.  He had a lot of health issues the last few years.  […]

This Sunday at Church: Encourage a Single Parent in the Congregation

I am amazed at the number of single parents that God has put in my path.

May we encourage our single parents around us in the Lord and in life.

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray any pastoral counseling today would be used by God. I have been working all week on preparation for my upcoming overseas travel to teach on biblical parenting.  I have been spending a long time thinking about single parents, as one of […]

This Sunday at Church: Pray any pastoral counseling today would be used by God

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Pray any pastoral counseling today would be used by God. During the weekdays sometime I as a pastor would be counseling people, if I’m not discipling, studying, teaching and messaging people.  But sometimes some counseling happen during Sunday after service whether at […]

This Sunday at Church: Share appreciation for those who serve with church financial book keeping

We are actually in the process of finding someone new for our bookkeeping/accounting, but our Sunday offering collectors/counters are also very much appreciated!

Daniel

This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Share appreciation for those who serve with church financial book keeping The last few week’s Sunday post probably reveal to readers that the church I pastor is small.  That means its also hard to have deacons that can do the financial book-keeping. […]
