VerseD: John 6:36

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
John 6:35, ESV

We must be hungry for more of God and thirsty for His righteousness.

Christ is our means manna from heaven and water from the rock.

Seek Him and be satisfied.

VerseD: Psalm 59:16

But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
Psalm 59:16, NIV

Christ alone is our mighty fortress.

If your faith feels weak, troubles are troubling you, then SING! Shout to the Lord in song, and you may see your strength increase.

Religion is a disease, I have the cure

Agreed.

-Daniel

VerseD: Galatians 5:1

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1, ESV

How easily we act like ancient Israel, turning back to our old life and familiar temptations instead of fully pursuing our Lord.

Sin is slavery. Christ is liberty.

VerseD: John 3:36

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
John 3:36, ESV

Belief and obedience go hand in hand. It is not enough to believe in Christ Jesus to be saved.

“If you love me, you will obey my commandments.” (John 14)

VerseD: Galatians 6:10

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10, ESV

Serve others, give to others, encourage others. Especially those in the Church.

We are a brotherhood, a family, united in our Big Brother and God, Jesus.

VerseD: Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8, ESV

Do not worry.

Our Lord is in control, and He does not change. You can trust Him.

God Did Not Create Another God

Something few of us actually consider about the truth of Christ …

Anthony Baker's avatarThe Recovering Legalist

Would you take a moment and consider something?

When God created man, He didn’t create another God.

You might think that’s nothing new, but it is a very, very important truth – one that is rarely unpacked when discussing issues of sin and suffering.

There are people who wonder why God, if He exists and is so powerful and wise, created a free agent who could sin (break God’s law).

Others question why Scripture would suggest that Jesus was slain before the foundations of the world (1 Peter 1:19-20).

The answer to these questions and many more is that God did not create another God, only man.

God has certain characteristics that Man could never have simply because he was created. The most obvious are that he is not eternal, omnipotent, immutable, or omniscient. The most important is that Man, no matter how perfect he was at the moment of…

VerseD: Matthew 6:34

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34, NIV

Life throws many problems at us, and it can be difficult not worrying.

The key is focusing on Christ. It is not easy, but worrying only makes things worse (at least in our minds.)

VerseD: Proverbs 27:5-6

Better is open rebuke than hidden love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; profuse are the kisses of an enemy.
Proverbs 27:5‭-‬6 ESV

It hurts more finding out others did not want to hurt your feelings rather than spare you difficulty and pain by correcting you.

Nip sin in the bud. Confront it in love, with gentleness, and sooner rather than later.

It hurts less than consequences.
