This Sunday at Church: Pray for anyone you might want to disciple but now is not the opportunity

Versed: Hebrews 6:1

Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

Hebrews 6:1-2

We are called as followers and disciples of Christ to learn more of God and His Word, to love others in this world with the love and grace of God that He first did with us.

VerseD: Hebrews 5:9-10

And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 5:9-10, ESV

Jesus Christ is our perfect example and eternal High Priest, our God who presents us to the Father as clean offerings because of His faithfulness in life, death, and resurrection.

Let us worship our Savior.

VerseD: Hebrews 5:8

Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.

Hebrews 5:8

Jesus demonstrated the understanding of the pain of serving God in this life, giving us the example as our High Priest so that He could present us to the Father.

VerseD: Hebrews 5:7

In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

Hebrews 5:7, ESV

Jesus Christ is our greatest example and High Priest, the one who cried out to the Father as a human and now delivers us from death to the Father.

May we properly revere our God.

VerseD: Hebrews 5:6

as he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”

Hebrews 5:6, ESV

Jesus Christ is our eternal God and High Priest who presents us to the Father, because He was our faithful Savior who understands us.

VerseD: Hebrews 5:5

So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”

Hebrews 5:5, ESV

Jesus Christ became a human and made Himself a servant, and being a servant to the point of death and His ensuing resurrection has proven that He is the very Son of God who understands us and draws us to the Father.

VerseD: Hebrews 5:2

He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness.

Hebrews 5:2, ESV

Regular human priests and pastors (and all Christians) relate to all of us, because we are dealing with this life along with everyone else. Thankfully, we have a High Priest who knows us and welcomes us to God, because He overcame the things of this world as one of us.
