VerseD: Matthew 6:10

Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

God came to us to reunite humanity with Himself, to usher in His Kingdom on Earth. He invites us to join Him through faith in Christ, and He empowers us to spread the Kingdom through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

VerseD: Psalm 39:7

‭”And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.”

This life is hard, but our God came to us and called us friends. He died us, then He rise again. He has given us hope for eternity, so we wait for His return.

This Sunday at Church: Encourage Someone to read the Old Testament

As part of the Adult Sunday School class on apologetics I am leading, there are often a blend of passages from both testaments. Today also happens to include a strong request to read entire passages I allude to. (Today we are covering “Christian Gnosticism,” and there is a mention of Andy Stanley’s “unhitching” from the OT.)

The OT is so worth it. Read it.

Friends choose each other, while siblings can seem like a chore but will usually be there for you.

Our Lord came and called us friends as He made us brothers in His blood, saving us from our adversary and punishment for our sins.

VerseD: Matthew 7:7

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

We like to think we can find our own way, but God has shown us that wisdom in this life and the path to eternal life is only found through faith in the work of Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

And all we need do is seek Him and ask for His grace and forgiveness for having rejected Him.

VerseD: Isaiah 54:10

For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

We make our world chaotic, but God has promised to give us the peace paid for by Christ, filling us with the Holy Spirit to carry that peace into the world.

And God keeps His promises.

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

We might be able to get through this life without God, but it is only through Christ and the regeneration of the Holy Spirit that we can truly thrive and find hope for the next life.

VerseD: 2 Corinthians 9:8

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

On our own, everything we do is tainted by sin. But when we put our faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit cleanses us and empowers us by His grace to truly do good works for others and to the glory of the Father.

VerseD: Matthew 7:13-14

‭“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”

We think we can make our way to Heaven, but it is only by Christ who did all things well that we can get to God. the path begins with the Holy Spirit changing us in faith.
