But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Luke 6:35, ESV
Just as Christ gave up His life and served others – we humans who killed Him – we ought to serve others sacrificially, even those who mistreat us.
Do we truly love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths? Maybe I can help with the mind part, at least! This is Daniel M. Klem, apparent poet, reluctant yet passionate Disciple (Peter?), and foolish man attempting to understand theology!
O how the love of Jesus is the most powerful reason to love our enemies!
