VerseD: Psalm 46:1

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1, ESV

God is always with the believer. Good times or bad, just turn to Him and find His peace.

VerseD: Psalm 27:14

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:14, ESV

We are all too often restless and impatient. We must learn God’s patience.

Remember that He has been patient with us, throughout all of history and until Christ returns, saving even us.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
1 Corinthians 13:4‭-‬5, ESV

People can be stupid, it is true.

If you are easily irritated by or jealous of them, do you truly have the love of God in you?

Remember how patient, kind, and sacrificial He has been to you, and that will inspire love for others.

VerseD: 1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58, ESV

May we never say “Do as I say, not as I do” as Christians.

We have the Word of God, but our faith is so much more than words. We must interact with our world in real and physical ways! And He will empower, strengthen, and move through us!

VerseD: Psalm 139:13-14

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
Psalm 139:13‭-‬14, ESV

Do not despise your appearance or your inability to do something.

God made you! No one else could, and He has a purpose for you!

Praise Him for who you are in Him, or stay stuck in the bitterness of this world.

VerseD: 1 Samuel 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
1 Samuel 16:7, ESV

“Do not judge a book by its cover.”

Only God can judge a person’s heart. You may not know their circumstances or motivations. Therefore, treat all people the same, with God’s love and with wisdom.

“Treat others how you want to be treated.”

VerseD: Proverbs 19:21

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
Proverbs 19:21, ESV

We may have our own plans, but God has a grander plan that we are each a part of. This is why James (4:15) tells us to say, “Lord willing” when we plan.
