VerseD: Ecclesiastes 12:13

The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

We want to do things on our own, but the things of life are meaningless apart from God. When we submit to the Holy Spirit to helps act and be more Christ-like, we find our true purpose and meaning in life.

VerseD: Luke 6:35

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

Luke 6:35, ESV

God has shown His kindness and goodness to all of us (everyone) who has sinned (rebelled and disobeyed) against Him.

We remember that vengeance is the Lord’s against those who wrong us, and, just as we can never earn grace nor our own salvation but must accept His gift, we give of ourselves to help others.

VerseD: Proverbs 11:24

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

Proverbs 11:24, ESV

God blesses us, and we bless others with those blessings. Most importantly, God gives us the blessing of grace and forgiveness, and if we hold onto for ourselves we stagnate. If we pass on that blessing, we find more than we can fathom.

VerseD: Matthew 5:9

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”

God wants us to live at peace with others as mich as we can, but most importantly He desires we bring others to the peace with God found only in Christ.

VerseD: Galatians 5:13

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Galatians 5:13, ESV

The only One truly free is God, but through His love He sacrificed His Son to offer us freedom. By His Holy Spirit we are empowered to take the news of this freedom to others.

VerseD: John 6:35

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

God alone is able to take care of all of our needs, most importantly our need for redemption, forgiveness, and eternal life. All we need do is trust in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.

“even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Matthew 20:28, ESV

God’s plan is the redemption of His people and this world, and Jesus not only redeemed us but at the example for us. We are to serve God by serving others, even to the point of laying down our lives to draw others to Christ’s redemption.

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

We want to do our own thing, but God draws is into His will and plan by His Holy Spirit indwelling and guiding us.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

God works through His people to work out His plan of salvation. We join in His work by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and trust the Holy Spirit to work in others.

VerseD: John 1:12

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

John 1:12, ESV

God’s plan is restoration of His very good work, starting with this of us who believe in the life, atoning death, and resurrection of Christ – we are adopted in Christ as heirs of eternal life.
