Blog Milestones: Factors of 3
Yesterday/At least 27 hours earlier than this posting, blogging friend Veritas Domain hit the milestone of 3,000 consecutive days of blogging.
Today, as of a few minutes ago, a simple man of God (this blog) hit the same milestone! 3,000 consecutive days of posting!
While there are many other things shared in this time, the main contributor to this feat is posting the daily mini-devotional “VerseD” (as in “well versed” while focusing on a Verse of the Day [or two or three] with a “tweetable” [in length] thought.) This began as a challenge to myself after taking a seminary class on technology in ministry. That is 8 years, 2 months, and 27 days (including two leap years) of daily Bible reading.
Also this week …
The blog surpassed another factor of 3: 30,000 views for the year!
If you can see the image, that is equivalent to the past 3 years combined! (Over 111,000 views and over 4,400 posts in 15 years and 6 months! So, this is also nearly a third of all of my lifetime views in half a year!) Most views come from the US, but about half now come from around the world, and for the past year or so mostly from southeast Asia and the island nations. (Remember my post about asking for prayer for the Philippines after an earthquake, looked into because my numbers dropped significantly. It shows how connected the Church is through technology and, of course, the Holy Spirit.)
It has helped that I began preaching more often, and you all seem to like sermons more than anything else. That and consistency, which is a teaching on the Christian faith in and of itself.
