Our world either wants to earn their own way to salvation or think they can get there anyway they choose.
We know it is in Christ alone we are saved, and it takes personal sacrifice to follow Him.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
John 15:4, ESV
God has sought us out, but we must also choose to honor and love Him.
The best way love others is to love and seek God with everything we are, for He first loved us.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2, ESV
Life is difficult, so God gave us the example: sacrifice for each other, loving each other through help, work, and comfort.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Psalm 8:3-4, ESV
God created all of space, matter, and time, from the largest galaxy cluster to the tiniest speck of matter and beyond.
Yet, He watches over and cares for each of us.
Trust in Him.
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
Proverbs 19:21, ESV
We try to run our own lives, but God has an ultimate plan. Trust in His plan, in Him.
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
Zephaniah 3:17, ESV
As we live in this world, we will be encumbered and afflicted with worries, anxieties, and fears.
But our God can and does save us, giving us strength and joy in the midst of evil and suffering. Lean on Him.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
John 11:25-26, ESV
No one wants to die. It is our God who takes away the fear and permanence of death if we believe and trust in Him.
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
Psalm 27:14, ESV
We walk according God’s will, seeking His glory. Life might not go the way we expect, but we know God is in control and holds us in His hands.
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
James 5:13, ESV
We can give thanks to God in everything, but we can also ask for healing and peace. Whether He grants that request in this life, we can praise Him that we know we await eternal life free from pain and suffering.
